Introduction :

The Save the Planet exhibition showcases local and foreign companies, who offer products and solutions for waste collection, treatment and utilization. A conference on the same topics will take place parallel to the exhibition. The event is open to representatives of municipalities and government administration, ecologists, investors, managers of companies from the sectors recycling, waste management, agriculture, food and packaging, etc.

Introduction :

The 2015 edition of Save the Planet proved its position as one of the business platforms in Bulgaria and South-East Europe. It presented new technologies covering the whole process of waste management: treatment, transport, collection, disposal, recovery and recycling. The countries from the Region are facing numerous challenges to improve their resource efficiency and to achieve the high European waste management targets. They are streamlining the legislation and introducing new facilities in cities, landfill sites and industry enterprises.

Comment Save the Planet Conference presented case studies on waste management and provided a closer look at the market potential in South-East Europe. Speakers called for more transparency in legislation, for more public awareness, wider promotion of benefits of recycling and for encouragement of eco-design. The Conference Highlights 2015 ● Speakers from Austria, Bulgaria, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Romania, Switzerland and the Netherlands took part. Among them were experts from the European Demolition Association (EDA), European Network of Environmental Professionals (ENEP), VDMA Abfall- und Recyclingtechnik, Romanian Environmental Association (REA), Bulgarian Industrial Association, Dr. Brüning Engineering UG, Vlakglas Recycling Nederland, Ministry of Environment and Water of Bulgaria, Plastics Recyclers Europе, BDI - BioEnergy International AG, etc. ● Three sessions were held: Recycling of Construction & Demolition Waste (C&DW), Circular Economy and Plastic Waste Recycling.
