SINGAPORE --A BILL was introduced on Tuesday to provide for the setting up of Singapore's upcoming fourth university, the Singapore University of Technology and Design.
It also provides for Government funds to be given to the university as well as it gives the Government the right to exercise certain controls over its management in the public interest, said Senior Minister of State ( Education) S. Iswaran on Tuesday when he presented the Bill in Parliament.
The new publicly-funded university is slated to open in April 2012 and offer undergraduate study in technology and design.
