Sep 18, 2019 (China Knowledge) - A company under the CRRC (601766, 001766) has developed China's first domestically made permanent magnet traction motor for trains with speeds up to 400 kilometer per hour (km/h). Currently, the maximum speed of Chinese bullet trains run at 350 km/h.

The newly-developed TQ-800 motor is expected to be used in multinational interconnected high-speed train project. It boasts a high power density, excellent low-temperature adaptability, and low maintenance cost by adopting a fully-enclosed and directional cooling structure.

This achievement in the permanent magnet motor could reduce China's reliance on foreign technologies and free up foreign monopoly. It also lays a solid foundation for the upgrade of rail transit technologies in China.

The Fuxing trains are bullets trains that entirely designed and manufactured in China, it adopts the speed of 350km/h and travels between Beijing and Shanghai. It is more spacious and energy-efficient, and with longer service life and battery reliability. What's more, the TQ-800 motor performed better in various aspects ahead other advanced technologies.
