CONVERGENCE: Golden Pin unveils spectacular key visual for 2017 Grand Ceremony
Nov 18, 2017

TAIPEI --( ASIA TODAY )-- This December 7th, the world’s most prestigious huaren design event, and the biggest moment of the year for Taiwan’s design industry, the Golden Pin Design Award 2017 Grand Ceremony takes place in Taipei. You can watch the whole event, live streaming on the Golden Pin Facebook page from 6.30pm (GMT+8).

Golden Pin Design Award Group is proud to announce, Taiwan’s leading motion design company — Bito Studio creates the key visual and video for the 2017 Grand Ceremony. Unveiled today, “Hui” (Convergence) is the concept behind Bito’s spectacular key visual of the event, placing Taiwan at the convergence between East and West. An abstract sense of ebb and flow in the image represents the liquid nature of creativity and design.

The Director of Bito, Keng-Ming Liu relates the East to water in the “Hui” (Convergence) key visual. Abstract lines in the image depict the convergence of many turbulent rivers at one point. The rivers represent streams of design coming from all over Asia, and converging at the center in Taiwan. Liu sees Taiwan’s Golden Pin Design Award as a stage for Asian designers to showcase their talent, from East to West.

Bito’s video for the 2016 Golden Pin Design Award won the ADC Design Award. Bito Studio also created the action-packed promotional video for Taipei Universiade 2017, which is critically acclaimed for its massive impact on public opinion in Taiwan, during the run up to the international university sports competition.

It took Bito six months to perfect the whole experience of the 2017 Grand Ceremony. As opposed to most ceremonial events where you passively watch presentations on stage, Liu says interaction is key to his vision. An interactive installation will greet the Best Design winners onto the stage as they receive their awards.

Tune-in this December 7th for the Golden Pin Design Award 2017 Grand Ceremony, live streaming on the Golden Pin Facebook page from 6.30pm (GMT+8).

During the halftime break, Taiwanese digital media group Tripper showcases a live 3D projection mapping performance. The group is renowned for its live shows on behalf of major fashion labels, such as Gucci, Nike, and Adidas, plus automotive brands, VW, Ford, Mitsubishi, and Volvo.

Taiwanese television celebrity, Mickey Huang (黃子佼) returns to host the event for a second year. He also hosted the Golden Bell Awards, Golden Melody Awards, Golden Horse Awards, and KKBOX Digital Music Awards. Huang is a dedicated follower of design, having hosted a BLTV television show about design.
