Beijing, 26 February 2019 — The Personal Care and Homecare Ingredients (PCHi), China’s choice sourcing platform for the global personal care industry, opens today at the Guangzhou Poly World Trade Center to a bustling show floor comprising 634 exhibitors from 27 countries and regions. Participating to increase their presence in the Asian and Chinese markets, these companies will present an extensive range of the latest cosmetics ingredients and leading-edge technologies over 25,000 trade professionals at the three-day event.

Peter LIU, PCHi Project Manager at Reed Sinopharm Exhibitions (RSE), said, “Technology and innovation have been key pillars of the show, and exhibitors are increasingly capitalizing on PCHi as a springboard to kick-start their business activities for the new year. In this edition, we’re proud to launch our Plenary Talks under the Conference program and introduce a new feature titled PCHi Frontier. We’re also excited to see increased interest in the PCHi Fountain Awards. With the variety of activities available, we firmly believe that each attendee will leave PCHi with renewed anticipation for the year ahead.”

PCHi is well positioned to help the Chinese cosmetic industry connect directly with international buyers and industry experts to learn more about the latest cosmetic technologies and trends, and to uncover business opportunities in the Chinese personal care market.”

Recognizing Innovation and R&D Contributions

First introduced in 2017, the PCHi Fountain Awards strives to reward the industry and spur it towards advancing research capabilities and developing cutting-edge technologies. Earlier this evening, RSE recognized leading beauty companies for their innovation and technology development in an Awards Ceremony at The Westin Pazhou.

This year, RSE received a record total of 147 nominations (a 43% increase from 2018) across the five Award categories. Entries were assessed against standardized criteria by a judging panel — which was expanded and saw partial rotation this year — comprising senior experts from prestigious universities and scientific institutes, leading R&D figures from renowned organizations (e.g. Shiseido, Estée Lauder, Beiersdorf, China Association Fragrance, Flavor and Cosmetic Industries [CAFFCI], China Food and Drug Administration [CFDA]), as well as industry experts from PCHi’s Cosmetics Science & Technology Innovation Committee (CSTIC).

Joe ZHOU, Vice President at RSE, shared, “Three years into the Fountain Awards, and the overwhelming response we’ve received from the industry is very encouraging. Our judges had a hard time selecting finalists from the pool of strong entries, and we’d like to thank everyone who took part — for the contributions that each company makes to the industry. Even as we celebrate the winning entries tonight, we look forward to being a catalyst for even more sophisticated and creative offerings in the years to come.”
