PETALING JAYA 27TH Nov 2018: Quest International University (QIU) celebrated the graduation of 293 students from various disciplines with a clarion call by the Chairman of the University Council, Dato Sri Dr Vijay Eswaran for students to adjust, adapt and accommodate.

Speaking at the 4th Convocation ceremony held in Ipoh recently, Dr Vijay said the mantra of adjust, adapt and accommodate simply meant change, adding that students must learn to fit into different customs and systems.

“The world today is a global village moving at a fast pace. Adjustment will be a lifelong process. When one goes out into the world, the world does not change. Therefore, one must change for the world and the more one changes, the more their world will change.

“Accommodate means sacrifice and the world that awaits you now requires you to do all of these. This year, Malaysia has seen a lot of changes and the country today is looking at a new journey and you are all a part of that,” noted Dr Vijay in an hour long inspiring and memorable convocation speech attended by about 1000 people including senior Perak state government officials and students as well as their families.

Dr Vijay also called on the students to learn the art of building relationships.

“Work on the art of building bridges. It is the only way forward, and remember to adjust, adapt and accommodate. As you embark on the next chapter, remember the principles of RYTHM which means Raise Yourself To Help Mankind,” he added.

Degrees were awarded to students from four faculties, namely the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Business and Management, Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Science and technology. Six students received First Class Honours and Distinction Degrees after displaying outstanding academic achievements during their course of study.

The day was extra special for Bachelor of Finance (Hons) student, Miss Yugeethra Elanggova Kumar after she was named as the Valedictorian for the 2018 convocation. She received the Dato Sri Dr Vijay Eswaran Award.

Earlier, 293 new graduates including two Master’s Degree received their scrolls from Dr Vijay.

QIU, in partnership with the State Government of Perak, is recognized today as providing a gold standard education model. Almost all of the students who are graduating have found jobs with reputable companies. The University’s rapid growth over the last seven years has been nothing short of extraordinary and this undoubtedly is credited to an excellent team that has capitalized on an industry niche.
