The inaugural Asia Future Energy Forum and Exhibition (AFEF) and the 2nd Asia Smart Grid (ASG) will bring together nearly 100 notable speakers from international agencies, governments and enterprises to share valuable insights and critical knowledge with delegates from across the energy industry. The conference will cover a variety of sustainable energy topics in Asia, including a track on energy efficiency, facilitated by the European Chamber of Commerce.

The AFEF and ASG show floor will also be a hive of activity. The Innovation Hub, organised in association with Bloomberg New Energy Finance, will showcase upcoming renewable energy projects and connect project developers with financiers. There will also be talks by the Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP) and the Clean Energy Council Australia, as well as numerous future energy exhibits by local and multinational businesses, including a Singapore Pavilion, supported by Sustainable Energy Association Singapore.

These two events create an ideal networking platform to connect providers of sustainable technologies and services, and smart energy distribution solutions, with buyers from the region. As part of this year’s Singapore International Energy Week, AFEF and ASG are expected to draw some 5,000 qualified trade visitors.

Introduction :

Energy is critical ingredient in supporting economic growth. As Asia positions itself for a period of moderated growth, the region is looking increasingly toward low-carbon, renewable and sustainable alternatives to meet its energy needs. This bullish outlook for Asia’s sustainable energy future is shared by many, including the Asian Development Bank, which has committed to investing $1 billion to energy-efficiency projects in Asia through 2020.
